Statuspage

See the health of your services next to every conversation

About this App

Statuspage is Atlassian’s tool for publishing service status and incidents. Connect it to SparrowDesk and the status of your services shows in the conversation sidebar, so an agent can tell an outage is underway without leaving a reply. Customers get faster, consistent answers during an outage, because the agent already knows about it.

The integration is read-only. SparrowDesk reads your status page and never creates, updates or closes incidents.

With Statuspage connected, your team can:

  • See the status of your services in the sidebar of every chat and email conversation
  • See All Systems Operational, with the time it was last updated, when everything is working
  • See which components have problems, and their status, when something isn’t working
  • Open your full status page with one click on View
  • Connect public or private status pages

Good to know:

  • Component status only. The sidebar doesn’t show incident titles or update text. To read incident updates, click View to open your status page.
  • Close to live, not real time. The status loads when you open a conversation and refreshes every 3 minutes while the sidebar is open. It can be up to about a minute behind your status page.
  • One status page per account. The connection applies to every brand. Entering a different page ID replaces the connected page.
  • Watch for sidebar errors. If the API key is revoked or changed in Statuspage, agents see “Unable to load Statuspage data”. Admins don’t get an alert and the app card still shows Connected, so an admin fixes it by entering a new API key on the Setup tab.

How to enable this integration?

You’ll need the Manage Apps permission (Account Owners and Admins have it by default), your Statuspage page ID, and a Statuspage API key if your status page is private. Agents don’t need any permission to see the sidebar section. The Statuspage integration is available on all plans.

  1. In SparrowDesk, go to Settings → Apps
  2. Find the Statuspage card and click Connect
  3. Enter your Page ID, found in your Statuspage management URL
  4. If your status page is private, tick My status page is private and paste your API key
  5. Click Connect

SparrowDesk reads your status page once to check the connection. When it works, the card changes to Connected and every agent sees a Statuspage section in the conversation sidebar.

Key features and benefits

Outage context while replying. Service status sits in the conversation sidebar, in both chats and email conversations, so agents know about an outage before they reply.

Only the problems are listed. When something isn’t working, the sidebar lists the affected components with their status. Operational components aren’t listed.

Public and private status pages. Connect a public page with its page ID, or a private page with its page ID and an API key.

Your incidents stay in Statuspage. SparrowDesk only reads your status page. It never creates, updates or resolves incidents.

Set up once for the whole team. An admin connects Statuspage once, and every agent sees the sidebar section with no extra permission.
