MCP

Connect any MCP client to your SparrowDesk account

About this App

The SparrowDesk MCP server lets AI tools that speak the Model Context Protocol (MCP) work inside your help desk. Add one URL to Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or any other MCP client, sign in with your SparrowDesk account, and the tool can read and update conversations, contacts, companies and help center content on your behalf. There are no API keys to copy or rotate. Authentication is OAuth, and the connection renews itself.

With the MCP server connected, your AI client can:

  • List, search and read conversations, with or without the full reply thread
  • Create conversations, add replies and internal notes, and update status, assignee, priority and custom fields
  • Create and manage conversation fields
  • Look up, create, update and delete contacts, including bulk imports with job status
  • Look up, create and update companies
  • List help centers, create collections, and create, update and archive articles
  • List members, tags and contact fields so the AI uses the right names and IDs

Good to know:

  • The tools mirror the Developer API. Anything the API can do with conversations, contacts, companies and the knowledge base, an MCP client can do too.
  • The AI acts as you. Every action runs under the SparrowDesk account you signed in with, so your role and permissions apply and changes show in the conversation history as yours.
  • Scopes are set for you. The default OAuth scopes cover conversations, contacts, companies and knowledge base collections. Some knowledge base actions depend on the features enabled on your account.
  • One server, many clients. Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor are documented. Any client that supports remote HTTP MCP servers with OAuth should work with the same URL.
  • Using Claude on the web? You don't need this page. Install the SparrowDesk connector from the Claude directory instead.

How to enable this integration?

You'll need a SparrowDesk login and an MCP client. The server URL is https://mcp.sparrowdesk.com/mcp and the transport is HTTP.

  1. Claude Code: run claude mcp add --transport http sparrowdesk https://mcp.sparrowdesk.com/mcp in your terminal
  2. Claude Desktop: add a sparrowdesk entry with the server URL to claude_desktop_config.json and restart Claude Desktop
  3. Cursor: add the same entry to ~/.cursor/mcp.json and restart Cursor
  4. The first time a SparrowDesk tool is called, a browser window opens. Sign in with your SparrowDesk account and approve access

Exact config snippets for each client are in the installation guide linked below.

Key features and benefits

No keys to manage. OAuth login means nothing to paste into config files and nothing to rotate. Revoke access by signing out, not by hunting for a key.

Support context in your editor. Engineers in Cursor or Claude Code can pull up the conversation a bug report came from, read the thread and reply when the fix ships, without opening the help desk.

Bulk work in plain language. Hand the AI a spreadsheet of customers and it creates or updates contacts and companies in bulk, then checks the job status for you.

Write docs where the answers are. Turn resolved conversations into help center articles, file them in the right collection and archive the ones that are out of date.

An open standard, not a lock-in. MCP is supported by a growing set of AI clients. Switch tools and the SparrowDesk connection comes with you.
