Turn Discord messages into conversations in your Inbox

About this App

Connect your Discord server to SparrowDesk so community and support messages become conversations in your Inbox, alongside email and chat. Your agents reply from SparrowDesk, and the reply posts into the original Discord thread. Your customers keep chatting in Discord, with no new portal or account to set up.

With Discord connected, your team can:

  • Capture forum posts automatically, with each new post becoming one conversation
  • Turn a message into a conversation with an emoji reaction, by mentioning the SparrowDesk AI Agent, or on every message
  • Reply from the Inbox, with files and edits syncing both ways
  • Choose which Discord roles count as your support team
  • Reply from inside Discord, with replies from linked agents attributed by name

Good to know:

  • You choose the channels. The bot joins your server but stays off in every channel until you turn channels on. For private channels, give the bot View Channel permission in Discord.
  • Discord allows 10 webhooks per channel. If a channel already has 10, SparrowDesk warns you and blocks the channel until you free one up.
  • Emails aren’t captured. Discord doesn’t share user emails with bots. Contacts are keyed to the Discord user ID, so repeat messages from the same person attach to one contact.
  • Edits and deletes are tracked. The originally synced content stays in SparrowDesk. An edit may be appended and marked “edited in Discord”, and a deleted message is kept for audit and marked “deleted in Discord”.
  • Nothing is dropped silently. If the bot is removed from a channel, syncing stops, your admin is alerted, and open conversations are flagged “delivery unavailable”.

How to enable this integration?

You’ll need admin access in SparrowDesk and an admin role on the Discord server. The Discord channel is available on Professional and Enterprise plans. Connecting multiple servers and mapping them to different brands is Enterprise only.

  1. In SparrowDesk, go to Settings → Channels → Discord
  2. Click Connect Discord and authorize the SparrowDesk bot through Discord
  3. Select the server you want to connect and map it to a brand
  4. In the Discord settings, turn on each channel or forum you want SparrowDesk to cover
  5. Choose how conversations are captured in each channel, and pick which Discord roles count as your support team

Each agent then links their Discord account once from Account Settings → Discord, so their replies post under their own name and avatar.

Key features and benefits

Capture that fits each channel. Forum channels capture every new post automatically. In regular channels, use the emoji trigger (default 🎫) for busy channels, or turn on Every message, where messages from the same person within 5 minutes group into one conversation.

Replies land where the customer asked. Your reply posts into the original Discord thread, and files and edits sync both ways.

No new login for customers. They keep chatting in Discord and get your replies in the same thread.

Agents can reply from Discord too. A linked agent’s Discord reply is attributed to them by name. A reply from an unlinked agent with a support role is recognized as an agent reply, with a prompt to link.

Role setup that survives renames. SparrowDesk stores support roles by role ID, not name, so renaming a role in Discord doesn’t break the setup.
